Uses of Aldara

Aldara Cream is a topical drug used to treat warts, both genital and perianal ones. The patient himself has to apply the cream This cream also ensures that further infection is prevented.

Aldara is a cream. So, it should only be applied topically and not to be taken orally. Do not place on areas near your eyes, lips or nostrils. Apply the product only as instructed by your doctor. Increasing the application will increase the possibility of skin reactions and other side effects. Your doctor will most likely ask you to rub the ointment on the infected area before sleeping. Then, you will wash it off when you wake up. If you suffer from external genital and perianal warts then you should apply the cream for 6 to 10 hours, once daily, three times a week. The treatment will last until all the warts are gone. There is, however, a maximum duration of 16 weeks. If you suffer from actinic keratoses then you should apply the cream for 8 hours, once daily, two times a week. Again, treatment will last for 16 weeks or until all the symptoms are gone. If you suffer from actinic keratoses, Aldara Cream is to be applied once a day for approximately 8 hours, 2 days a week for a period of 16 weeks or until all actinic keratoses is gone.
