Drug Uses
Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant that is prescribed for patients 12 years and older to ease the ache and stiffness of muscle spasms and discomfort caused by injuries.
How Taken
Carisoprodol comes in the form of a tablet and is to be taken about four times a day with food or liquid. Adult dosages average at 350mg per tablet.
Warnings/Precautions
Carisoprodol must not be taken if you have acute intermittent porphria. If you have kidney or liver disease, you may need dose adjustments or special monitoring throughout your treatment. It is not known whether this drug will harm an unborn baby or if it passes through breast milk. Consult with your doctor before taking Carisoprodol.
Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, take it immediately when you remember. However if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and resume the dosing schedule as usual.
Possible Side Effects
Allergic or idiosyncratic reactions develop between the first and fourth dose. Seek medical attention if anything unusual occurs. Possible side effects include headache, insomnia, syncope, depressive reactions, irritability, tremor, ataxia, vertigo, insomnia and headaches.
Storage
Store Carisoprodol in an air tight container at room temperature.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms include weakness, confusion, fainting, low blood pressure, breathing difficulty and even unconsciousness. Seek medical attention if any of the symptoms appear.

This drug causes dizziness and drowsiness therefore caution must be taken if performing hazardous activities or consuming alcohol.
