Uses of Cleocin-T Gel

Cleocin-T Gel is a prescription medication formulated to treat acne vulgaris.

Cleocin T comes in two forms: topical solution and pledget. If you are using the Cleocin T Topical Solution, apply only a thin strip of the solution on the affected area two times a day. If, however, you are using the Cleocin T Topical Solution pledget then apply the measured portion to the affected area and discard the pledget.

Safety Guidelines & Possible Side Effects

If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding then you should inform your doctor. Clindamycin, a component of Cleocin T, may or may not pass through breast milk and poses unknown effects on the breast feeding infant and the unborn child.

If Cleocin T is administered orally or parenterally (intravenously or through pierced skin) then there could be several side effects. Some of these side effects are abdominal pain, colitis, gastrointestinal disturbances and gram-negative folliculitis.

Missed Dose

Do not double dose on Cleocin T. So, take a missed dose as soon as you do remember. If you remember when it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then skipped the next one, and proceed with the regular schedule after.

Storage

Liquid forms of Cleocin T should be kept in a sealed container away from the reach of children. If there is a broken pledget seal then discard that pledget in question right away. A pledget should also be discarded right after use.

Overdose

Call poison control or any other medical emergency services if you suspect an overdose. Systemic symptoms may arise if there is an overdose on Cleocin T as a significant amount of it can be absorbed by the body.

More Information

Be careful when using Cleocin T together with neuromuscular blocking agents. Talk to your doctor about all the other medications you are taking during treatment.
