Uses of Elimite

Elimite is a drug used to treat scabies.

Elimite is a topical cream. Wash your hands before applying the medication by hand. 30 grams should be enough for a one-time application. Apply the cream from your head to the soles of your feet. Do not apply on cut skin because Elimite can be absorbed in the body. Do not wash off until the 8 to 14 hours are up.

Safety Guidelines & Possible Side Effects

If Elimite is applied on the eyes, nose or mouth, immediately wash off the cream with water. Do not engage in sexual relations until after your scabies has been cured.

It is rare for a patient to experience any side effects. However, if you experience side effects such as stinging, swelling, burning, tingling, redness or a rash then you should immediately contact your doctor. Also observe any troublesome symptoms that you are unsure of and ask your doctor about them as soon as you can.

Missed Dose

It is impossible to miss a dose of this cream as it is only applied once all over the body.

Storage

Elimite should be stored in a tight container at temperatures between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. It must be kept away from direct moisture and sunlight. Store in a place where children cannot find it.

Overdose

If you overdose on Elimite, you will experience irritation and erythema or redness of the skin.

You should not just take care to ensure that the application of the medicated cream is right. You also have to make sure to wash clothing, bed lines, brushes and combs and other materials that have come in contact with your infected skin in order to ensure that the infection, in this case scabies, will not come back.
