Uses of Levitra
Levitra is a prescription medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It has been given the FDA approval. Levitra treats erectile dysfunction by increasing the blood flow to the penis.
Levitra comes in the form of a tablet and must therefore be taken orally in doses of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg. The drug should be taken an hour before planned sexual activity. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one dose daily.
Safety Guidelines & Possible Side Effects
During your consultation, inform your doctor about your medical history, present health condition and current medication. Tell him about conditions such as angina, blood problems, eye disease, heart disease, high or low blood pressure, kidney problems, physical deformities, stomach ulcer and stroke. He may advise you to either not take Levitra but take it but with special dosage and monitoring involved.
You may expect some side effects with Levitra use. These may include flushing, headaches and stuffy or runny nose. There may be more serious side effects such as vision changes or even an erection that is sustained for more than four hours. Seek medical help if your symptoms persist or worsen.
Missed Dose
As a drug that is only taken when needed, Levitra will not give you instances of having missed a dose.
Storage
Store Levitra at room temperature, away from the reach of children.
Overdose
An overdose of Levitra is characterized by abnormal vision, back pain, chest pain, dizziness and the swelling of the ankles or legs. Seek emergency medical help if you suspect an overdose.
More Information
You cannot take Levitra if you are also taking alpha blockers or if you are allergic to any component of Levitra. Levitra does not protect you against STDs.
