Drug Uses
Nizoral is prescribed for people to treat systemic fungal infections such as blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, coccidiomycosis, and candida infections of the skin or mouth (thrush).
How Taken
Nizoral should be administered once daily with or without food and in doses prescribed by your health care provider.
Warnings/Precautions
Be cautious if you suffer from liver dysfunction and be aware that this medication can lead to liver dysfunction. Symptoms of liver dysfunction are characterized by nausea, vomiting, jaundice, dark urine, pale stools, unusual fatigue and anorexia.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as your remember to. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and return to your normal schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects may include skin rash, itching, dark urine, fever, chills, sore throat, loss of appetite or pale stools. Contact your doctor if they continue to be bothersome.
Storage
This medication should be stored at room temperature away from moisture.
Overdose
A Nizoral overdose may be indicated by signs of diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or headache.
