What is Propecia?
Propecia is a medication that treats mild to moderate hair loss on men. It only treats the vertex and anterior mid-scalp area as there is no sufficient evidence it benefits the receding hairlines at the temples. Propecia works by appearing to disrupt the development of the male pattern hair loss by blocking the formation of DHT. The first and only FDA-approved pill to treat male hair loss reduces further loss and re-grows visible hair.
Instructions
Propecia is to be taken once a day, every day for 12 months. If a dose is missed, take the tablet immediately however if it is nearly time for your next dose, wait until then to take the dose. Results occur after three months and if Propecia has not produced any results after 12 months, the medication has not been beneficial.
Further treatment of Propecia should be eradicated after this period. Propecia only works over the long term and must be taken accordingly to produce the best results. Nevertheless, a thorough consultation with a doctor will be able to determine the best treatments to suit individual’s personal needs.
Overdose
Overdosing on Propecia should not produce a life threatening situation, however immediate assistance should be sought.
PRECAUTIONS
Propecia is to be used only for men, not women and children. Pregnant women must not use or handle Propecia tablets that have been broken and crushed, as the active ingredients may cause abnormalities to male baby’s sex organs.
