Uses Triphasil

Triphasil is a contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy that can also be used to regulate the menstrual cycle. It cannot, however, prevent STDs.

Triphasil is taken orally with water and with food in your stomach. Take it once at the same time each day. On your first week of Triphasil, use a backup contraception method because the pill takes some time to become effective. Ask for directions from your doctor if you plan to use it as a “morning after” pill.

Safety Guidelines & Possible Side Effects

Do not smoke if you are taking Triphasil as the combination can increase your risk of developing heart problems. Do not take the pill if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it can harm your unborn baby or nursing infant. Make sure that your doctor knows your full medical and family medical history, especially if you have asthma, blood clothing, breast cancer, depression, diabetes, excessive weight gain, fluid retention, heart disease, high blood pressure, jaundice, kidney disease, liver disease, migraines and seizures or if you have had a heart attack or a stroke. The drug can cause melasma, which may get worse when exposed to sun or sunlamps. It may cause difficulties in wearing contact lenses.

Triphasil may cause bloating, dizziness, headache, lighheadedness, nausea and upset stomach. Call your doctor if symptoms persist. If, however, you experience depression, chest pain, jaundice, weakness, tingling in the limbs, breast lumps, shortness of breath or groin or calf pain, call your doctor or pharmacist at once.

Missed Dose

Your product package should contain instructions on missed doses. You may also ask y our doctor or pharmacist for instructions.

Storage
